Welcome to the American Sewing Guild Blog

by Ramona on September 27, 2011

Hi there, American Sewing Guild members, and the rest of the sewing world.

Welcome! I am thrilled and terrified to begin the ASG’s national blog about everything sewing.  Consider this an extension of the communication already provided to ASG members in the form of our quarterly publication “Notions”, the “ASG Online!” webinars and the ASG Facebook page. Add the Annual ASG Conference, local Chapter activities and what’s not to love about us?

This blog is open to ASG members and the general sewing community. We want to share with every sewing enthusiast, the celebration of our members’ creative achievements and generosity in sharing their sewing projects and expertise, their work in bringing the young into the sewing fold, their valiant efforts at finishing their UFOs and sewing up their stashes, their encouragement of each other to add to their fabric stashes (er  .. collections), their willingness to help each other with a perfect garment fit, sharing the latest sewing gadget or gizmo, sewing much needed items as a “pay it forward” for their local community, creating comforting things for our brave soldiers overseas, and generally keeping the world sewing.

This blog is dedicated to all ASG members, and to the ASG Chapter and Neighborhood Group leaders whose hard work to run their chapters and NGs is reflected in the enjoyment of the members.

Samina authored a wonderful article in Notions about blogs.
Thanks for taking us into cyberspace.
I have so many UFOs that I have begun taking over the garage, let alone our second floor.
Saw some delicious embellishment techniques at chantilly expo today.
Pix to come.
