Guess What? There’s a giveaway here…

by Ramona on March 23, 2012

First giveaway on the ASG blog!

Pretty ASG stuff!

We’ll pick one winner of this collection of pretty & useful items emblazoned with the American Sewing Guild logo! Not so fast, though, since you will have to earn it! Here’s how: answer the two questions below in the comments section. The correct answer (or the closest) gets a chance to win. You have to answer both questions.

Gee, what will this become?

1. What is this picture on the left? Ok, ok, we know it’s cloth and is already sewn. Tell us what is the item/items.

2. What will the cloth items be made into?  What will it become? It’s only fair that I give you a couple of hints for question 2:

(a): The letter “A”

(b): Involves much hand sewing

Let’s have your answer in the comment section. We’ll pick a winner on April 20 – a whole month to mull over it.  The answer closest to the correct one gets a chance to win (you know-it-alls will guess easily).  Good luck!

A hand appliqued blanket for the blanket project?

Beal March 24, 2012 at 12:06 am

That photo looks like knit fabric (t-shirts?) to me. Is the letter A the first letter? If so, my guess is a t-shirt quilt with appliques.

I am thinking right now that it looks like “A” great place for a nap! How about a Affigan for an American veteran.

You’re going to tell us what it is and we’re all going to groan “of COURSE that’s what it is!!” But I’m at a loss. It’s a pile of tee shirts? And you’re going to make them into shorts for children in Africa?? Oh boy, my head hurts thinking of A words… You’re a stumper, Samina!

I am guessing that the fabric will be made into a clothing, accessory, or blanket using the Alabama Chainin hand sewing technique that is becoming so very popular for recyclying, going green, and envirmental sustainability.

I need to add that I believe the fabric source is from recycled sweaters or tee shirts.
