ASG Conference Scenes (or, You Should Really Follow us on Twitter)

by Ramona on August 21, 2012

Hey, everyone, how are my favorite people in the world (yes, you, readers of this blog)?  If you followed @SewingGuild on Twitter, you have probably seen these pictures. For all non-tweeps, I am posting them here so you can see what you missed :). You probably saw a lot of pics on the ASG Facebook page. The pictures below were taken by me with my camera phone and are probably not the sharpest, but you get the gist.

First up, pictures of a few attendees in their fab self made outfits. Checking out what other people made, and showing off your own self- made attire is part of the fun at Conference! I kept running into some my ASG friends repeatedly. There were many more who I did not get a chance to photograph. Live tweeting was only part of my job at ASG Conference.

See Helen below who I had to photograph each time I ran into her. All her outfits below are self made.

Here comes Joyce in her black/white top. The colored part is where Joyce actually colored within the lines with fabric paint!

Jacque Goldsmith’s “Don’t Mess With Texas” outfit! Below that, Jacque and three of her creations. She was a teacher as well as a vendor at the ASG Conference.

Carol Buerman, below, spotted at the President’s Meet and Greet party.  Her skirt is made entirely of men’s ties.

Marge Mitchell made this shirt using Cutting Line Design pattern and 2 old naval shirts plus another two chambray shirts.

And there were many, many, many more attendees with beautifully made attire.  There will be more pictures later this week! Meanwhile, start saving your pennies for the 2013 ASG Conference in the Washington DC area.

What a stylin’ group of ladies! Of course Helen is always impecibly dressed… and the other ladies are giving her a run for her money. Nice job, ladies!

Helen, looking good! So sad I couldn’t come to conference this year.

Thank you for sharing, Samina. Keep the pictures coming. It is wonderful to see all the beautifully made clothes.

Love all the photos. I especially like the strip jacket. What pattern is it?

Samina August 26, 2012 at 1:12 pm

Dianne, Helen used a Marfy pattern!

Thank you. I may have to give Marfy my first try.
