  • Description

Ready to have some fun and stretch your creativity? Join Darcy and discover unique and unusual garment closures that will make your garments truly stand out as statement pieces – some are treasures you can find in hardware stores or even among jewelry – making supplies! Darcy will also include techniques for utilizing unique closures to make your garments more accommodating and comfortable for arthritic fingers or low dexterity issues.

Darcy Lewis

As the daughter of a mixed media artist and a costume designer for Opera Colorado, Darcy’s earliest memories revolved around colors and textures and the interplay between them. She loves the warmth of fabric and the richness of its varied textures.  Having lived in Israel, Japan and China, she draws inspiration from multiple aesthetics to create connections between cultures and peoples and has taught sewing and textile arts to groups all around the world. Darcy’s work has been widely exhibited and published in: The National Quilt Museum, ArtPrize (Michigan), The Denver Art Museum, The Mizel Museum (Denver), The Photographic Gallery (Finland), The New York Times, Threads Magazine, Asian Fabrics Magazine, Air India in-flight magazine, The Vienna City Hall (Vienna), by invitation at the Pacific Int’l Quilt Festival (California), the International Quilt Festival (Houston), and in galleries and exhibits around the world.
